About Me

Rachel Lucie JohnsWelcome to my online jewellery shop.

I'm Rachel Lucie, a jewellery designer / maker living in Hebden Bridge, a beautiful mill town in the Calder Valley, West Yorkshire. UK.

I hand-craft all my jewellery designs using sterling silver, gold-fill, semi-precious stones and freshwater pearls. I design earrings, necklaces and bracelets that are romantic and contemporary, yet have a unique vintage style.

Since starting my business in 2008, I have been selling my jewellery in galleries Nationwide, and Internationally online. Please see my testimonialsstockistspress or blog if you would like to know more about my journey so far.

You might want to view handmade jewellery by The Collections or simply browsing necklacesearrings and bracelets. I undertake many bespoke commissions, and wholesale for selected stockists. I also have gift certificates available (great for when you just can't choose).

My Inspiration

My journey towards becoming a jewellery designer has been an entwining of several different passions which came together to create a plan when I took a break from work to have my children.

My Grandmother had an old inlaid-silver sandalwood box filled with semi-precious, vintage murano glass, lead crystal and pearl beads from her 1920's and Art Deco necklaces. I happily spent hours as a child lost in a world of beads and wonder, and longed for the days when I would have 'proper' jewellery of my own.

Always drawn to patterns in nature, and creatures of all kinds I spent many happy hours during childhood in the country climbing trees, collecting bugs, rocks and crystals. If I wasn't outside, I was inside doodling and playing with calligraphy, pattern and colour, and interested in man-made forms and shapes.

Although I had a great love of semi-precious stone beads and silver jewellery, it was hard to find unique jewellery that was really 'me'. I began to develop the idea of setting up my own jewellery design company in 2008, as I believed there was a place for my kind of contemporary jewellery, which would be unique, wearable and precious.

Why Buy Handmade?

Nowadays people really value the quality and unique that handmade products offer. It's easy to buy cheap high street bargains, but they don't last, and we don't want to all look the same. Customers' love my jewellery's versatility and enjoy owning something individual that they can really treasure and wear often, to express who they are. Which will you choose?
